Last updated 7 October 2026.
In short: I only collect what I need to contact you and teach you. I don't sell your data, I don't share it with anyone for advertising, and I don't send newsletters without your consent.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Olga Startceva (trade name Snowpeak Web Solutions), Lappeenranta, Finland. Business ID 3467134-7. Email: russianfluency40@gmail.com.
2. What I collect
- Your name and email, and a messaging app handle if you give me one.
- Your level test answers: your Russian learning background, goals and check results.
- Booking details: chosen times, time zone, lesson option.
- Payment details: amount, date, method. I never see your card number, the payment provider handles it.
- Learning materials: your lesson notebook, flashcards and homework.
- Our messages.
3. Why
- To reply to you and arrange the intro call and lessons.
- To teach your lessons and prepare materials for your level.
- To take payment and keep accounting records, as Finnish law requires.
4. Legal basis (GDPR Article 6)
- A contract, or steps before one: booking, lessons, materials.
- A legal obligation: accounting records.
- Your consent: anything optional. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who can access your data
I don't sell or pass your data to third parties for their own purposes. The website and lessons do run on online services, which store data on my behalf:
- Cloudflare: website hosting.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on this site, loaded from Google's servers.
- Tally: level test.
- Cal.com: booking calendar.
- Stripe: card payments, connected through Cal.com.
- Google (Meet, Docs, Gmail): lessons, notebooks, email.
- Excalidraw: lesson whiteboard. No personal data goes on it.
Some of these services may process data outside the EU. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Beyond that, data is only disclosed where the law requires it, for example to the tax authority.
6. How long I keep it
- Enquiries and test answers, if lessons don't start: up to 12 months.
- Student details and learning materials: while we're working together and for 12 months after the last lesson, then deleted. Sooner if you ask.
- Accounting records: as long as Finnish law requires, up to 6 years after the end of the financial year.
7. Cookies
This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser only remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.
8. Your rights
At any time you can:
- ask what data I hold about you and get a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask for your data to be deleted, unless the law requires me to keep it;
- restrict or object to processing;
- withdraw your consent.
Write to russianfluency40@gmail.com and I'll reply within a month. If you believe your rights have been breached, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) or the data protection authority in your own country.
9. Children
For a student under 18, the parent or guardian provides the student's data.
